For those who stubbornly continue to say there’s nothing worth watching on television I can point to a dozen shows worth anyone’s time. Hybrid fruits are nothing new. Tangelos are a daily site at the local grocery store, but one woman from Cheltenham, Gloucester, England got a surprise when cutting into a tomato. Apparently within the tomato from her garden Esther Walker, 48, discovered a strawberry hiding out from authorities. I don’t make a lot of sushi at home. OK, I don’t make any sushi at home. It’s one of my favorite foods, but I like to leave it to the professionals. The making of sushi is not really all that hard. I have indeed done it on occasion, and never had a problem getting the nice tight roll. But it’s still an arduous task that requires skill and precise technique to do well. more…
I’m having the same issues photographing rice as I am with potatoes. Both rice and potatoes seem to suck in all of the light, causing these really bright spots. I’m going to have to figure out how to photograph rice and potatoes without getting bright spots like that while also getting the rest of the food properly lit. Any suggestions?

If you just spent a good deal of cash for a bottle of 2003 Opus One Cabernet Sauvignon you’d likely be hoping nothing went wrong prior to the bottle arriving to your lips. It’s time for summer to say goodbye as we welcome my favorite season of the year. Not only am I lucky enough to live in an area of the world that experiences clear differentiations of the seasons, but I also have the added benefit of classic family recipes that bring to mind each season. I’ll never live in the south because I simply hate the heat. I don’t like sweating with every step I take, and I equally don’t want to get into an argument about humid versus dry heat.
