It’s been a long time, but we’re still here. Why? I hear you asking (all 2 of you that actually still check out the site in hopes I’ll post something…anything). Well, the reason is simple: I still love food, and want to share that with you, readers. The problem quickly became a lack of direction. Then I went to work full time at an upscale restaurant and immersed myself in the professional food world.
During the past few months I’ve grown tremendously in my knowledge and technique when it comes to preparing great food, which I’ll certainly be sharing with the world. But here’s the thing, Munch Monster is a partner with Cinema Blend. While we remain a separate entity there is the fact that what we should be is an entertainment site.
And so the previous incarnation of Munch Monster, with the mini-activist postings and constant recipes, will become a niche portion of the finally entertaining Munch Monster. Yes there are important political issues with regards to our current food culture that need to be brought up. And hell yeah do I have a killer recipe for carrot puree that has to be tried by everyone. But food is glorious and delightful, and it should be celebrated.
I prefer to think of this new launch of the Munch Monster not as a redo, but more of an evolution. Whether bizarre or tasty we’re going to talk about it. So stop counting calories, stop worrying about carbs, and stop fussing with your food. Pick up a fork and dig deep into a pile of butternut squash mashed potatoes splashed with the aforementioned carrot puree.
