You’ve been watching Top Chef for a few years, you’ve probably even made some of your favorite dishes. But don’t you just want to know how good these chefs are in real life? Take away all the editing, the drama, the oddball challenges and just see how good they are. Last year’s favorite, and finalist, Richard Blais will be showcasing his unique skills as a promotion for the upcoming season of Top Chef at The Culinary Institute of America on November 8th. Even better the special event is a full on demonstration class with Q & A.
Fans, culinary hopefuls, and people who enjoy unique food pairings will be able to watch as Chef Blais puts together a full four course dinner. Attendees will get to learn from Blais, who is an alumni of the CIA, as he cooks. In other words, this is no simple cooking demonstration. The class will take place at the CIA’s main campus in Hyde Park, NY. Unfortunately tickets are a bit pricey for a last minute trip at $225 per person. At the end of the demonstration attendees will receive the Top Chef cookbook as well.
I’ll be visiting family on Long Island on that day, so I won’t be able to attend. It does sound like it could be a good time, and Chef Blais is at the top of my list of cheftestants to pick the brain of.
