It’s time for me to put down what I think will happen for the remainder of Top Chef. There’s been enough time to get a feel for the competing chefs, so I feel comfortable in my choice of winner. Now the order in which the remaining cheftestants pack up their knives might vary, especially since some of these people are on near equal footing (Hosea and Leah, for example) it could come down to a simple slip-up.
So without further ado, here’s how the rest of the season will go:
Carla will be the next to go, followed by Fabio. By the way, the dynamic European duo has turned into a solo act with Stefan being nearly perfect while Fabio struggles each week. He’s full of bravado and charm, but not so much in the kitchen. Leah will go next, but won’t have to wait long for a kiss from Hosea who’ll bow out the next week. The final battle will be between Jamie and Stefan.
Because Stefan has nearly 23 years experience as a chef, and the finalists get time to plan out their big meal, he’ll have a distinct advantage. Stefan will present clean dishes, something will probably be deconstructed and get a snide comment from Toby Young. Jamie will come out guns blazing, and this will likely be one of the closest finales ever on Top Chef. In the end Stefan will take the prize.
I want Jamie to win, but I’m starting to be won over by Stefan. Like Hung he’s got an arrogance about him that is initially annoying. Also like Hung he’s a fantastic chef. I think it could go Jamie’s way, but I’m putting myself out there in saying this year it’ll be Stefan.
