Is it really time for Anthony Bourdain to return to television? Thank god, because most of the celeb chefs making the rounds are just people that have no place telling other people what to cook. Bourdain doesn’t do that in No Reservations, instead he just travels and enjoys the food of the land. As it should be. My Monday nights have not been complete since last we saw the show. Believe me, Monday Night Raw is not a substitute for good television. Or anything really.
The season premiere of No Reservations, airing on The Travel Channel January 5th at 10pm ET, sees Anthony travelling south of the border to Mexico with friend Carlos. Carlos, who took over Bourdain’s position as Head Chef at Les Halles in NYC, shows Bourdain around his home. This includes the standard food fare, such as the best tortillas ever and a family feast with Carlos’s family in Puebla.
It wouldn’t an Anthony Bourdain trip if he didn’t explore the culture a little too. After all food is an extension of the local soul. So we’ll follow Bourdain as he takes in a little Lucha Libre training center and floats down the river a la the Aztecs. Check out the video below to see what’s in store for Anthony as he heads off to Mexico.
