Gordon Ramsey is now a well established TV chef. He sits in that realm of chefdom that people are a little confused about. Is he a chef, working on creating dishes, or is he television personality? The thing with most of these guys is that they’re very focused on building a brand and business. To get the kind of mass market notoriety Ramsey has you have to calculate your movements. It also helps if you have good food to serve at your restaurants. Detractors may say that his public persona is a fake, and that might be true I don’t know the guy, but his restaurants all do well. As his Michelin Stars prove, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Ramsey is now planning to move his business into Australia with a fourth branch of Maze opening in Melbourne come February 2010. Pretty soon Chef Ramsey will have complete global domination, and then all anyone will be able to eat for dinner is a bowl of risotto and medium-rare Beef Wellington.
