Now that the economy is looking anemic folks are staying at home to eat. Normally I’d rejoice that people are now going to be eating more fresh food at the dinner table, but that is not the case. Kraft and Kellogg have announced that despite price hikes recently their sales have gone up. Well, duh. You raise the price, even if the economy is going down the toilet, you should see some sort of gain.
The stranglehold industrial food has on our plates is just astounding. There’s this lie that goes around where people honestly think that food from manufacturer’s like Kraft is the only way to fee their family. For the same price, or even less if you’re an industrious crafter of food, people could be eating better. Instead they see easy and cheap ways to get calories in the body, opting for an option that is worse for the family.
