I’m not even sure what kind of commentary could go along with a product called Liquid Smoking. No, this isn’t the fake hickory smoke flavoring for making barbecue. There’s a product that is intended to help smokers in the non-smoking situations, such as on an airplane. You know the thing I always think about when I can’t have a cigarette is at least licking an ashtray. Mmm, smoking flavor.
According to the Daily Mail the beverage contains a mix of South African plants to mimic the effects of nicotine. The consumer gets an instant high that is followed by a calming feeling. I don’t know how calm I’d be drinking something so embarrassing. Even the heaviest smoker should be able to go without a cigarette when it’s inappropriate.
I guess it’s lucky that the Dutch company behind the drink decided on fruit flavors instead of old ashtray. There doesn’t seem to be any claim that this is a stop smoking product. And I just don’t understand how drinking from a can is any kind of substitute to sucking on a cancer stick.
