foodelection What Will Our New President Do About The Food?Munch Monster has no interest in talking politics. It is election night, and there’s just no way to get around it. Sure, I could post up some quaint election night food recipes. Well, if I had any. Tonight I had red lentil chili from Wegmans for dinner. It was quick and easy, sort of like the voting process.

OK, so politics isn’t on the Munch Monster agenda. Food is. We’re serious about our food here. And while it may be too late to look into each candidate’s plans for our food in the coming four years, it’s still an important issue. Important because we’re entering a time when food prices are back on the rise, the first significant inflation of food cost since the Nixon era. We need to know what our future president plans to do about the problem of food.

Author and journalist Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemna) posed some pertinent food questions to the President elect in his article for New York Times Magazine.
