The first “Tools of the Trade” Online Auction began yesterday. The eBay auction puts up some of the cherished items of NYC’s best chefs up for your bidding in an effort to support Slow Food NYC’s Harvest Time in Schools Program.
Even if you’re some weird non slow food fan, some of the items up for bid in the first round (November 18 through November 28) are pretty remarkable. Below is a list of the items on the auction block, which you can bid on here.
Chef Daniel Boulud’s entire set of cookbooks, including a hand-written dedication and autograph.
Chef Charlie Palmer’s copper pan that was used to present his “duo plates” in the early days of his career.
Chef Zak Pelaccio’s mortar and pestle that he bought while living in Kuala Lumpur
One of Chef Eric Ripert’s jackets.
A Staub Cocotte from Chef Laurent Tourondel.
A copy of The River Cottage Cookbook from Chef Dan Barber.
A Wustoff chef’s knife from Michael Romano, chef at Union Square Café.
Chef Alfred Portale’s personal copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
