Thank you failing economy, now we’re getting even more Spam than we know what to do with. The pink cube of meat like product has gone into high demand due to the current economic climate. People feel that affording a steak is just beyond their means, but for a couple bucks you can “enjoy” Spam. In response Hormel has blasted into overdrive, working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week to produce the oft mocked product.

According to the New York Times this equals about 150,000 cans of Spam each day. Now I do enjoy, probably more than I should, a piece of my dad’s Spam pie. It’s the perfect breakfast food on Thanksgiving day. That being said there are better alternatives than Spam for those looking to save some cash.
