toast3 Toaster Printer Makes Tasty PagesI prefer to toast in the oven itself, or on my griddle, but here’s a nifty new toasting idea. The toaster that prints concept was created by Othmar Muehlebach, winning second place in a Swiss design contest. The toaster has the user put multiple pieces of bread at the top, which are then “printed out” to a nice golden brown.

I’m not sure what else this thing could be good for. At least the generic every day toaster allows you to toast not only bread, but also bagels, Pop Tarts, and Toaster Strudels. I have a feeling some inquisitive children would be interested in finding out how toasted ties turn out. Also you have to imagine the cost of proprietary butter cartridges will run around $75 each. And don’t even mention the time it’ll take to set up the toaster printer, trouble shoot problems, download and install drivers, and generally mess around just to print out the day’s “To Do” list on your morning toast.

This thing really needs to toast images and text into the toast to be truly awesome. [via Boing Boing]
