Over at Serious Eats, Robyn Lee put the question to the food community on whether they’d send back an overcooked burger. I’ve found that the majority of recooks sent back to the kitchen are undercooked, but it is an interesting question. Personally I only send a steak or burger back if I’m paying top dollar. I can endure an overcooked $5 burger, but a $45 filet you can bet is going back to the kitchen. more…

You may think that someone who writes about food would never think you can take food items too far, but you’d be wrong. The burger and soda sleep masks are a prime example of going overboard. It’s the equivalent of the Disney fanatic who has nothing but Disney decorations throughout their home. We have pics from our trips in the bathroom, and few specialty items (such as Christmas decorations) we bring out. And the same goes for food. For the most part I stick to having my food and cooking items in the kitchen, with only the cookbooks invading the rest of the house. more…
