There’s never been a time in my life when I thought a musical television show could accomplish the goal of being good and popular. Even as I prepared to watch the sneak peak of Glee earlier this year I felt that it couldn’t be good, and if that happened then no one would watch. Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares, a show where Gordon Ramsay uses his patented tact and decorum to help floundering restaurants realize that maybe cleaning more than once every three months is a good idea, has gotten a bit stale for me. The issue is that it’s become too formulaic, with each episode having the exact same arc. Only when you get the owners who are completely clueless is the show as fun as it can be. more…
