Eating for cheap is always a great idea, even when you’re employed and doing well. Often times you can put together something extra tasty with just some cheap and simple ingredients. As is the case with this packed with flavor pockets seared polenta. I really like the spicy roasted tomato coulis, but you could certainly just go ahead chop up some tomato to make things even easier. Hybrid fruits are nothing new. Tangelos are a daily site at the local grocery store, but one woman from Cheltenham, Gloucester, England got a surprise when cutting into a tomato. Apparently within the tomato from her garden Esther Walker, 48, discovered a strawberry hiding out from authorities. 9 oz sirloin
½ head romain lettuce, cut into bite size pieces
2 cups arugula
2 oz gorgonzola cheese, coarsely crumbled
6 vine ripened baby roma tomatoes
¼ cup candied pecans (recipe follows)
1 poached Bartlett pear (recipe follows)
Raspberry vinaigrette (recipe follows)
Salt and Pepper to taste

After Dinner Thoughts:
Lately I’ve been working in the restaurant for 50-60 hours a week, and therefore haven’t had much time to cook delicious meals at home. Most often I’ve been throwing together something quick at work like a sirloin with balsamic glaze or flounder with wilted spinach and tomato garlic lemon sauce. It’s troubling to note that both the CDC and FDA, organizations that are designed to protect and help us eat food not contaminated with disease, are simply unable to get a grasp on the current salmonella problem.
